In reply to Linda's question re possible current-day burials at this cemetery. When I visited in 1997, it did not appear there were any recent tombstones. The cemetery is enclosed by a high cyclone fence and padlocked at it's single gate. The caretaker is the Methodist Church across the street(1st and Cedar Streets). They are the people who graciously gave me the 1930 cemetery listing and allowed me access to the cemetery itself. I recently emailed Linda a picture of the cemetery, taken by myself. Kim, you are right on the money. (Pun intended) The big problem with Family Tree Maker is that you are only buying the right to use their format. They don't want you to have a group of people that you share your information with because then they can't sell those people CDs. I have found little correct information on those CDs. Everyone is in such a hurry to send FTM their tree, they don't check their information carefully. You can't write a book using their program because they own the copyrights. When you start using their program, you agree to those terms and they state that they will sue you, if you violate the agreement. In their mind, they own your information, you send it in and you loose control of all your hard work. Does anyone know of a program that a person could use and still write a book using the format of that program without breaking any copyright laws? Carolyn Miller

Hi Kim, yes I agree also with you, we are the ones that work hard to get our families together just to have some one else to make the profit from it. I have expressed my opion to the Family tree maker about this matter, and if everyone would write or make calls to them and tell them the cd's are to high, and that we are the ones that are doing the work, and love to have contact with our cousins, to make it more affordable to do so. They might listen. But one lonely voice here meaning me, will not get it. but we can also have little family trees here and there and in hopes that someone will be our cousin, or researching the same tree. It does open up doors that I know I would have not had. I have made contact with cousins that would not have known the rest of the family as well. On page 88 it listed the will of Richard Parriott of Ohio Co dated 12/15/1824 and recorded June term 1842. Hi Cindy, Some time ago you sent a msg to me re the WILL of Richard Parriott . Do you have in your possession "Early West Virginia Wills Vol. 1, by KTH McFarland? Did you see the 37 pages of The Parriotts that Guy Litman sent over the Marshall net-work? I still have not come up with a connection to my Parrott family other than my grt grt grandfather Richard Parrott was from old Ohio County WV. which is now marshall. Hello, My name is Diane DeMore. I am originally from New Jersey, but, now live in Texas. I do genealogy, with a special interest in finding relatives that are still with us, but, have never met. My husband is Thomas A DeMore and is a descendant of (great great grandson) George Evans and Elizabeth Yoder. His great grandmother was Della Henrietta Evans who married Thomas A Harvey. They moved to New Jersey before 1891 where my husbands grandmother was born. Other children included Jesse who married a woman also named Della, they are buried in Main Street Cemetery. Sisters Annie and Myrtle that married brothers, William and Leonard Strait, respectively and a brother Leroy. There were also children from Georges first marriage and Elizabeths first marriage, last name Oliver. I know that Jesse and Myrtle had several children, no information on Annie for children and only dates for Leroy. I tried to contact , by mail, several persons with these last names, that are still in the area. However it has been almost a year and I have gotten no replies to any of the letters sent. Is there anyone there that could check church records for any of these names for birth, marriage or death records/burials? I would be most grateful. OR, does any of this or the names ring a bell to anyone there, that might know someone and ask them to please contact me. Perhaps they did not think the letter was genuine or sincere. The 1870 Cameron District Census has the following entry; # 67 Fowler, John S. 61 m Gunsmith PA. Mary 38 f VA. Rosetta 4 f WV. Clark, Sarah 64 f Domestic VA. Does anyone have any information on this family? What was Mary's maiden name? Who is the Sarah Clark? The same family appears in the 1880 census without Sarah Clark.
