The artist's name is D.D. Hammond. It was painted in the early 1900s. This painting was part of my grandmother's estate (Willa Mina Grisell Kern) who was born and lived in Moundsville, W. Va., but later moved to Coshocton, Ohio. Her maiden name was Grisell. She was the daughter of Edward "Chalmers" and Amelia Grisell. Who was D.D. Hammond? I would love to know who this person was. My Grt. Grt. grandfather Richard Parrott was born in Ohio County (Now Marshall) in 1811. He came to Hamilton Co. Ohio (date unknown) where he married Mary Ann Askew in Hamilton Co. in 1833. Where abouts of his parents not known. Are there any cemetary listings for Parrott family in Marshall Co? Please note Richard Parrott does not belong to the Richard Parriott family of Marshall Co. I am looking for info on Inez Frye. She died on 2-10-1931 after giving birth to twins. At the time, she lived in Dallas in Marshall County. Both babies died also, one on 2-10 and the other on 2-22. I found them in the transcription of the Mt.View Cemetary but was wondering if any ine had any further info such as cause of death or if there was a newspaper article, perhaps the name of the paper? Hi everyone! I spent about 2 hours yesterday in the Moundsville library searching out some obituaries... And now I have a question. In my great grandmother's obit is lists her place of death as "at MGH" She died in 1963. Can anyone help me decipher this. I realize it is probably as obvious as the nose on my face! I have her death certificate from Marshall Co courthouse that lists Moundsville as place of death. Any ideas?
