One of Wm Nelson's daughter was Lucretia. b.1797, KY. She m. Hezakiah Wiley, b.1798 Ky. My late wife(Norma) descends from the heroine Jenny Wiley." _____________ Hi Shelby, Shelby wrote: to keep this information clear and not add any confusion to the already confusing "Nelson and Wiley" relationships, the above Revolutionary War soldier William Nelson, b. 1747 NC, lived in eastern TN near the end of his life. He may be found in the census records and some have produced church minutes and his Revolutionary War Pension Documents to prove his residence and trace his kinship. His son William Nelson, aka Old William Nelson, b. 1776 NC migrated into Floyd Co., KY and this later became a part of Lawrence Co., KY. This "Old William Nelson" married Francis 'Fanny' Smith and they were the parents of Lucretia Christine Nelson. The marriage documents may be found in the Early Floyd Co., KY marriage books and the later descendants are found in Lawrence Co., KY and Wayne, Lincoln, and surrounding counties as we well know. This Old William Nelson married second to an Ann in Lawrence Co., KY. She and several of her children from her previous marriage can be found on the 1850 Lawrence Co., KY census living within the same household. Note: This Old William Nelson had a son( among others) named Isaac Franklin Nelson b. abt 1816 who married Margaret Stephenson, sister to Elizabeth Stephenson Moore Queen (1st hus Thomas Patterson Moore; 2nd hus Absalom Queen). Most of which are buried within the Queen's Ridge Family Cemetary, Wayne Co., WV. This Old William Nelson b. 1776, was father to William Nelson b. 1800, d. before 1870 in Wayne Co., VA(WV). This William Nelson married Sally/Sarah Stroud in Floyd Co., KY (d/o Mark Stroud b. VA) on March 1, 1822. This is my line that I have been so diligently researching along with several other descendants. Willilam Nelson and Sally/Sarah Stroud's children were Eveline Nelson b. 1823 KY, m. Thomas Wiley. Farmer Nelson b. 1825 KY, m. Matilda Maynard (my line) William Nelson Jr., b. 1828 KY, m. Nancy. Isaac Nelson, b. 1830 KY, Delaney Nelson b. 1833 VA; m. John Nelson Wiley. Milton Nelson, b. 1834 VA; moved to northern Illinois aft civil war. Emanuel 'Manville' Nelson, b. 1837 VA, m. MaryAnn McCann. Greenville Nelson, b. 1842 VA, m. Elizabeth Toppings. Sarah A. Nelson, b. 1845 VA. Nancy A. Nelson, b. 1847 VA. ___________ This shows four generations of "William Nelson's" within this one tree. There are multiple others related to the first William that are found within Logan and Boone Counties of VA/WV, and keeping them straight, well, has been quite a an undertaking. All of this information may be verified via census records and marriage records. I have tons more, but lack the time to go into much detail. I am still researching and trying to prove certain familial connections within this lineage of Nelson's and Wiley's. Several years ago, I had posted my findings and research on the popular query surname boards. So, much of my information is there to read. I love the researching of this Nelson line. They are soooo interesting. Thanks, Sandi
