    1. [WVLOGAN] looking for descendants of Blackburn and Lucinda Sturgell
    2. Anita McClung
    3. My siblings and I are looking for a straight line female descendant of Blackburn and Lucinda Sturgell, someone willing to do a DNA test for us. What I mean about "straight line" female descendant, one would have to be the daughter of the daughter of the daughter and so on of Lucinda and Blackburn. There cannot be a male in that line anywhere. According to my records, Blackburn and Lucinda had four daughters; Priscilla who married John Henry Mead(e), Louise who married Robert York, Jane who married Lewis Mead(e) and Mary who married Wiley Shepherd. So, if you are or know anyone who is a straight line female descendant of Blackburn and Lucinda, please let me know. Our goal is to prove once and for all that Lucinda was indeed a full blooded Cherokee as we have always been told.  You need not worry about the cost as we are willing to foot the bill. We just want to know. There is no doubt in our minds that she was, we just want to prove it. Anita McClung

    3. We grew up with the story of Lucinda and for a long time, I dismissed it because everyone has a story in their family of a Native American Ancestor. Recently, I started paying close attention to the pictures of my great Granny and her siblings and realized that yes, there had to have been  Native American in their lineage somewhere. So, that would make up related? Blackburn and Lucinda were my 3rd great grandparents. My line is Eli and Mary Alice, Catherine Elizabeth and Tom Buzzard, Jessie and Aubrey McClung, Norris McClung and Ruth Treadway. What I would like to know is since the story goes that Lucinda was orphaned and raised by Jane Akers Clay, were her parents victims of the Indian removal? Thanks for your reply.
