When an elderly parent reached the age when he or she needed care, back then,it was agreed on by family members, just who was responsable for their care. Usually it was the youngest son or daughter, but not always.Whoever it was got the homeplace, and whatever possessions the elder owned, for their reward for services rendered. This worked out well in most cases Compared to modern day nursing care, it was perhaps the most simple way to do it. What do you think ? Shelby
