    3. Hi cuz Shelby I hope those young people do get nation wide attention. We could all send their news reports to local newspapers everywhere. I really enjoyed reading the 'Coal Tattoo' blog, quite interesting. What makes me sad is: Court rejects Obama efforts to reverse Bush mining changes U.S. District Judge Henry H. Kennedy Jr. seems to be anti-environment from what I have read this afternoon. Was horrified when I saw that yellow/orange stream picture. Streams in WV are supposed to be clean and clear. Big secret that the coal companies don't want you to know is that the use of coal has dropped a lot recently. Since the big wind farms are being put up nation wide. There is still hope. West Virginia(and other states nearby) is still beautiful. Would like to see it stay that way. Cousin Gracie ; Are you referring to the story about the two people in treetops protesting mountaintop removal ? I hope it gets national attention ; but at the present time we must rely on coal as an energy source, until a better way comes along. At any rate, our beautiful mountains should NOT be destroyed. There are other ways to mine coal. 3. Gracie, I can attest the ugly water. Back in the late seventies, early eighties my parents bought this farm where we all now reside (Fayette County) - they in one house and my son and I in another. Running along side of my house are two streams. One runs thru my yard and the other on the othes side of the road. Both of these are natural springs and the one on the other side of the road turned red seveal years ago and now I am seeing hints of red in the one that runs thru my yard. You know what is interesting? There has been no "strip mining, MTR" anywhere near our farm.
