Ann was buried in Logan; Where is her grave ?According to the Mingo Heritage she had the following words on her tombstone:"Sacred to the memory of Ann Lawson,who was cruelly murdered on the night of the 27th of December 1847, Bill and Hardin, two of our negroes"Bill was hanged, and the other severely beaten. Ann was the widow of Anthony Lawson.This from the Mingo County Genealogical Society; volume 18 number 2. Shelby

    3. Shelby, That must have been a thing with the Lawson family. Anthony's stone says about the same thing. Scared to the memory of Anthony Lawson Sr who departed this life on his return from Philadelphia at Guyandotte, Virginia on the 20th of May 1847 at 25 minutes after 2'oclock May he rest in peace. Anthony is buried at Guyandotte, West Virginia. It is or was known then at the Guyandotte Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery. The Cemetery is separate from the church. Also known as the City Cemetery in Guyandotte.
