    3. Joel, Sorry to bother you again. I know you must be innundated with requests, but I am still asea in trying to connect the David Workman in the 1860 McDowell census to our original southern WV Workman families. After revisiting the records considering your suggestions, I still seem to missing something. Robert Workman, s/o Thomas and Sarah (Deskins) Workman, according to my information, was born about 1816. A Robert Workman, b. about 1816 was listed in Boone County in 1850 with wife Jane, but no Andrew or David. The crux seems to arise around the Polly Workman in Mercer County in 1850. She was listed as 36 years old and with children: David (12), John, Robert, Henry, James (4) and Andrew (1). (Her David seems to be a little off, but can't be discounted.) Who was that woman? Can we find who her husband was? I haven't checked earlier Mercer census, death or marriage records. I'll do that on my next visit uptown SLC. STAN Joel wrote: I have David and Andrew Workman as s/o Robert and Mary Workman. Andrew Workman m. Ellen Bell February 2, 1870 in Wyoming County, West Virginia. I believe Ellen is the d/o Benjamin and Louisa (Steele) Bell. Robert Workman s/o Thomas and Sarah L. (Deskins) Workman. I have no positive proof of this as Robert Workman died about 1850.
