When we made so many trips home as daddy's brother Ambrose Clark who lived on Logan Ave., Holden, was fighting the black lung battle I was learning of what daddy would go through later. Uncle Am had so many heart attacks due to it, another paternal uncle was Carlos Clark of Turtle Creek in Boone county, it was so sad to see what the illness did to these men, but we visited often and I never imagined we would have it with us first hand. Another close relative in my teenage years was married to daddy's first cousin Lucy Clark, daughter of Joe, she married Chester Adams. They lived lastly up Mt Gay before all of the changes of today were made. Chester also died a slow suffering death. As a child I knew these strong men, the final memories are sad. You who read what I write as Shelby does, I have a strong feeling about Black Lung. my 2 cents. Judi Ralph Sewell wrote: > Go get um Shelby, Black lung contributed to the death of my father > also.
