That was a funny story about Grandma Lovey--the midwife with the long skirt. I read a book many years ago called "The Americans" which is a social history from the beginning colonies and it is said that most women did not wear pantaloons for every day until the Victorian Age and I can certainly understand why it was easier not to do so!
