Hello again, Dodie; I resent the statement you made about "males" intruding in Harts Creek family sites. For your info: my late wife Norma had people on the creek. She was the gr gr grandaughter of Francis & Manerva (Ellis) Browning. indeed, the creek was given his name (Francis creek). Also my ancestor (Mary Burgess Workman) had ties to people down that way. Since we are family, why not keep the critcicism to a minimum.I lived in Chapmanville District when young, and knew many of the Harts folks.Harvey Dingess and I were educated in Chapmanville High School. He later became County Supt of schools.Back then, the Harts kids had to board in Chapmanville, in order to get an education. Later on, busses became available for them to ride from Harts to Chapmanville. I also worked with many Harts creek men,who travelled many miles each day to work. Shelby, Francis Creek was named for Francis Browning, right, but his wife was Tabitha Vance, daughter of Abner Vance. They are burried in the head of Francis Creek overlooking the area they lived and owned. This is my husbands 4th great grandparents. Debbie --------------------------------- Be a better sports nut!
