Troy Mullins of Blair raised a patch of watermelons. We youths kept watching them grow larger each week. One of the McKinney boys thought they were ripe enough for getting, so one night we raided the patch.We got all we could carry, and took them away for eating. We busted open the melons, only to find they were not ripe enough. We ate them anyway, and many visits to the outhouse took place the next several days !Later. someone asked Troy if he was gonna raise more melons next year.
