    1. Mothers Day Memorys ots
    2. I remember the early 1930s well; The local mine had closed at Ottawa, and people were in dire straits. My mom and another mom (Stella (Totten) Mullins decided we kids were going to have some religous training,One Sunday we four boys had put on our fresh Sunday school clothes, and headed out to church. We decided playing in the creek was more fun,so Sunday school was skipped. We finally went home, and stopped at Stella,s house first, with our clothes all soiled from playing. She whipped her 2 boys first, then turned on me & my brother with her switch, saying: 'Im whipping you boys too, as I know if Carrie (my mom) was here she would whip you too". I learned something that day about a mom's wrath !! Shelby

    3. And Hillary thought she had a new touch with her book, "It Takes A Village." I grew up in a neighborhood like that, too. It was hard being mischievious when you knew there were "hundreds" of pairs of eyes on you at all times.
