Joel, I've noticed that the names Daniel and David can look almost exactly alike when hand written in the censuses. Rebecca E.'s husband usually went by his middle name Kemper, and any other Kempers I've known about were David Kemper. I assume their namesake was David Kemper (1807-1884), a Methodist circuit riding preacher from Ohio. What do you think?
