    1. Re: Re: [WVLOGAN] Rick-- Boone County first white settlers
    2. Hello Sandi - I added Boone Co. on to this response. There are many Kinder descendents still in Boone and some are on the list if it is still active. I do not know how much of the story about Margaret Compton Kinder Javins is correct. I have the Boone Co. Kith and Kin on the Kinders. It begins with my ggg grandfather John Kinder b. 1786 who married Mary Ward in Sept. 1809 in Kanawha Co. There is much speculation on his father. I have him as John Kinder as well but no documentation. His wife was Margaret Compton. I have no info on Margaret other than comments on web sites that her mother was a captive of the Miami Indians. Her father was a Miami brave per some researchers. I would appreciate any info on the Comptons of SW VA. BOONE CO. LIST: Please help me regarding info on the early Kinders and Margaret Compton - the matriarch of the Kinder and Javins clans. There is a discussion on the Logan list regarding the first white settlers of Boone Co. Some say the Toneys (Tawneys) and others say the Kinders, Workmans, and Barkers. Someone else mentioned the Prices and Smoots. Thank you.
