As you know, grave markers get unreadable with age. I plan on getting modern markers to ajoin the headstones, by placing the new markers at the base of the old ones, with cement.This way, everyone can see the birth & death dates easily.I got the idea after seeing Moses Marcum (b. 1797) grave in Mingo co. WV.His new marker joins with the old one.They are rather inexpensive. Still trying to figure out the Vickers/McComas connections. They are all buried on the North Fork of Big Creek, where 3 countys join (Logan, Boone, Lincoln ). Cousin Shelby
Shelby... I've been thinking about doing the same thing for my GGGrandfather Victor Dewitt Curry's grave. You can hardly see it 5 years ago, I'm sure it's worse by now.
