could you give a little more info on the grave markers, such as cost and how to go about getting them? I live in NV and there are a couple headstones that I would love to be able to put something at in order to read them. I had thought of a small metal plaque with everything engraved on it and attached to the original headstone, kind of like a name plate or something but I'm not familiar with what can be placed on or near a headstone and what is not allowed. Any help would be appreciated. Lora

To all interested, If your ancestor, relative was a veteran, and even during the Civil War (Union), and Spanish American War veteran (Pre WWI Era), they are eligible for a government issue marker/replacement marker, if the one you find on their grave is in disrepair, or none placed. Documentation is required, as well as, photographs of the gravesite w/original marker are needed to be submitted with the request form. I followed the necessary steps to reorder a new marker for my grandfather b. 1886, d. 1969, a WW I Veteran, buried in the Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, Logan, WV. The cemetery took a while to enstall the new marker, but finally I badgered them enough to have the new one put on. The original had an incorrect death year-- 1919. No cost.......
