Thanks , Stan; I didnt realize the Wyoming & Mercer county Workmans were in the Pond Fork ,Boone co. set of Workmans. I believe my ancestor James Workman m. the widow of James Hewett. Hewett was killed by indians about 1790- 1800 at Hewett creek Boone co. WV. The creek has his name.Was she a Halstead ? so much I dont know about the Workmans. You asked about cemeterys; There is a Workman cemetery at Bald Knob; another on the Laurel Fork of Spruce. the latter is where my Workmans are buried.They are close in distance from each other.perhaps 2 or 3 miles apart.Tuncil Workman family is buried there.Tuncil was the son of John & Jane Workman.Him and two of his brothers fought in the civil war on the union side. Thanks for all of the Workman information everyone has been sharing. Two or three years ago we tried to find the Old Workman Cemetery at Bald Knob, but were unsuccessful. I was trying to find the grave of Joseph Workman, son of James and Nancy, who married Elizabeth (McNeely/Elkins). We couldn't find anyone around that could help us. Do any of you have good directions that would help us find it?
