We should remind you that there are a lot of other surnames that married into the Toler family. Some are Brown, Grimmett, Blankenship, Cline, Morgan, Smith, Paynter, Hatfield, Burgess, etc Question? (What should we include as source information on each family?) Can we discuss what sources and documentation should be included? What Sources do we have available? West Virginia Death Records http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_mcsearch.aspx Logan County Birth Death and Marriage Records Logan County Deed books & Wills (need help on this!) History of Logan County by Henry Clay Ragland World War I Draft Registration What other records should we include? How should we submit information to Toler Family Connections a. May I propose that we discuss one or two proposed families at a time on the mailing list. b. Send the information to the group c. Share information with each other and correct mistakes! d. Put the information in date order. e. Identify each source clearly. f. One person would volunteer for one family to organize information on that family. We should call this person Administrator for James Dolliver Brown! g. When the group agrees that we have the information correct we post the information to Toler Family Connections. h. The information should be in date order for the events that occured. i. The subject line should have the family being discussed and the administrator for that family. ie James Dolliver Brown 1940-1929 - Administrator -Jim Burgess j. When we agree that the information is correct we should post that information in our data bases and on our web site by family ie James Dolliver Brown 1849 - 1929. (Just in case we have two people with the same name.) k. I will put the information in the notes section to be printed in The Toler Family Book. l. We should include stories etc in these notes. Our goal should be to have accurate information that is not cluttered with incorrect information. Since we have been discussing James "Bad Hair" Dolliver Brown and his wives Nancy Toler and Bethena Alice Toler I would like to ask that we use this family as our first prototype. Where did he get the name "Bad Hair"? I would like to send the documentation for James Dolliver Brown's family this evening so that we can discuss the documentation. We do need a way to see the family with children their vital statistics and spouses. Any discussion on any of the above? Jim Burgess
