In todays Charleston Gazette is a story worth reading; the church was built in 1786, and still stands. Many of our forefathers are buried in the surrounding fields. Does anyone have a pic of the church ? It was founded by John Asbury of the Methodist faith, who broke off the Church of England. Shelby
Shelby, Thanks for pointing this out, so interesting. If anyone does share a picture I would really like to have a copy. The Methodist have a College named after the one person mentioned "Asbury College". My grandfather on my Clark side was a Methodist preacher in Logan county. This Methodist church brought the Methodist to America. John Wesley later followed with the Wesleyan Methodist, but it was much later to come to the states. Again, thanks for sharing. I would really enjoy seeing this church someday.
