Dear Logan County Genealogist, When I visited the Toler Brown Cemetery at Cyclone in 2005 on the Logan County Wyoming Cemetery line, I could not get to the cemetery. There were two large roads on either side of the cemetery - there were huge mountains of dirt around the cemetery. I could not tell if the Cemtery was in tact or not. I was really upset. Just too old to climb the dirt pile and tromp through the weeds. Wish I was 25 again! Just in case we have someone new on the Logan County list - we are working on a Toler family history and have a Toler DNA project going - We are looking for Toler Men to submite their DNA to our project. The book is titled Toler Families of Southwest Virginia Descendants of David Toler and Suzanna The book is going to be 800-900 pages in length with pictures. If you are related to the Toler and have not contacted me please do so. thanks Jim Burgess -----Original Message----- From: gracie [mailto:g.winters@sbcglobal.net] Sent: Wednesday, August 09, 2006 8:21 PM To: WVLOGAN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WVLOGAN] MTR http://www.wv.gov/sec.aspx?pgID=49 ----- Original Message ----- From: "suebod" <suebod@tampabay.rr.com> To: <WVLOGAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 09, 2006 10:01 PM Subject: [WVLOGAN] MTR > Someone in the know, please post a list of addresses for the governor and > whoever else we can start a writing campaign to stop MTR and the > destruction of cemeteries. > > If there's a grass-roots organization founded, put them on the list, so we > can join. > > I would think each county genealogical society should take it upon themself > to determine from a list of their county cemeteries, which ones are > protected under the Historic Preservation Act and which ones are not.
