Gracie; I will borrow your soap box for a while. Me & my late wife Norma fought the MTR Cos. for a long time. We joined Ohio Valley environmetal group, Mrs Bonds organization on Big Coal river, and the Cabin creek org. I have given money , video cam,and wrote to several law makers about the abuseof our mountains. Its all nearly hopeless unless your a WV resident. The coal cos. bought up all homes they could b uy offering triple the worth of the homes. People fell for it and moved to other places where they are not happy. Its a sad situation when one gives up his or her heritage for something they dont like. Shelby
Yes, it is so sad to read about people who sold and moved from their roots. I wasn't even born there but can feel the mountains of WV pulling me back. My various main lines all lived in Va/Wv, most from Wv. Guess my ancestors are wanting me to go there for some reason. Mayby to fight with the coal cos.
