    1. [WVLOGAN] Logan County Civil War Units
    2. Jim
    3. Dear Logan County Genealogist, Can we have a discussion regarding the different Military Units and Soldiers that served from Logan County during the Civil War? Company I 7th West Virginia Company G Logan Wildcats What other Units did we have? Could we have a discussion of these units and the men who served in these units? Maybe we could get one person to take each of these Units and write a brief discussion on the men who served. It would be great to know where they served and in what battles they fought. We could post this information on Logan County USGENWEB and LOGANWV.NET When finished I could post a brief description of each person who served in each unit on Logan County recreated. Are there web sites that discuss these units? Anyone willing to help us with this little project? I am willing to take Company I 7th West Virginia if no one else will take it. I have the Co 7th West Virginia unit information from Reference Book of Wyoming County. Has this been done by a Civil War buff? Is there someone on the list who is willing to head this up? Thanks to Joel Hager for this web site http://www.wvculture.org/HISTORY/wvmemory/militia/wvunmil.html Can someone in West Virginia contact To order copies or obtain further information about the collection, contact Terry Lowry <mailto:[email protected]> at (304) 558-0230. There is a minimum, non-refundable research fee of $15.00 for out-of-state residents and $5.00 for in-state residents. Do we know what kind of records we can get from Logan County? If these records are of value to us I would be willing to contribute money to getting copies. Do we have someone in West Virginia who could check into these records? We need someone who goes to the archives occasionally to check into this! By the way I finished the 1872 Death records yesterday? No very friendly records - information was very sketchy records. I have to say that I was very impressed when it said that they had over 40,961 Logan County death records. A few more than I am willing to extract. We should check this record for the death records of our ancestors. Thanks Jim Burgess
