Your ancestor William Lucas b. abt 1824, was the brother of my ggg grandfather David Price Lucas b. abt. 1814; they being the children of John "The Preacher" Lucas and Mary Polly Fry. Your William Lucas married Emily Fry d/o John Fry and Catherine Snodgrass; John Fry being a sibling to Mary Polly Fry. John Fry and Catherine Snodgrass were also the parents of Baptist 'Nab' Fry, father of Victoria Fry b. abt. 1864, who married William R. Lucas b. abt. 1852, son of David Price Lucas and Amanda Blaine (per one death certificate). William R. Lucas and Victoria Fry are my gg grandparents, through their oldest son Willis W. Lucas b. 1886. Willis married Luranie Vance, d/o John Washington Vance b. abt. 1852 and Cynthia Theodocia "Doshie" Lewis ....Willis, Luranie, John and Doshie are buried within the MAYNARD FAMILY CEMETERY on Sand Creek Rd., Atenville, Lincoln Co., WV. Grandmaw Vicky Fry Lucas was a sister to Eliza Fry Thompson who married Albert Jenkins Thompson...they resided up Whitman, Holden, Logan, WV and there is a photo of this couple within the FRY Family Genealogy book, and possibly one inside of one of the two "Logan County Pictorial" books, or I may have seen it published in an issue of the LOGAN BANNER. This couple is infront of what is believed to be their home; Eliza is sitting and her husband is standing to her left with his hand resting on her shoulder. It looks to be circa 1890's. The LUCAS' and FRY's have deep family ties going back many generations. Would love to hear if you have any old photos, too. The Guyan Baptist Church in the head of Little Harts has (or did the last time I was there) a picture of Cain Lucas hanging in their pulpit. --------------------------------- Take the Internet to Go: Yahoo!Go puts the Internet in your pocket: mail, news, photos & more.
