Hi Patty; Many Ky coal miners came to Logan co in that time period. The Ky mines were pretty much worked out,and they traveled to Huntington, where they boarded the trains to Logan co. and new mining jobs. I think I told you before the name of the mine supt. at Ethel(Mr. Kent) I dont know any of the teachers, ministers at Ethel. You may recall Green McNeely who married thousands of people. He was a Church Of Christ preacher, and later was the county clerk at Logan Courthouse. I too am a cousin of Jack Dempsey, the boxer champ. You can buy Logan co. publications from the Logan Co.WV Genalogy Society. Dear Logan County Family, I have fallen in love with a book titled _The Place Setting: Timeless Tastes of the Mountain South, From Bright Hope to Frog Level_by Fred William Sauceman. Mercer University Press. 2006 I am reading this one right now and can barely put it down. Most of the restaurants reviewed are from Scott County, Virginia where my Wilson family hails. My husband must have been very sick of listening to me laugh and say things such as "I've GOT to own this book!" etc. etc. etc. I love Sauceman's writing style. (He's a city boy, he can't relate!) In looking the title up on OCLC World Cat, I noticed there is a Part 2, recently published (2007). I think I'm ordering both books. For those of you who don't want to buy these books, check them from your local public library. Ada Wilson Kent (researching Wilson, Spence, Duty, Ellis, Music, Cisco) Worthington, OH
