Hello Gracie and Shelby - My gggg grandmother was Ann Burchett b. 1803 who married Absolem Pleasant Jordan 27 March 1821. Ann's parents were Benjamin b. 1772 and Susannah (Herron) Burchett b. 1777 of the area that is now Bland Co., VA. Benjamin's parents were Burwell Burchett b. 1740 Dinwiddie Co., VA and Mary Fannin born Nottoway Co., VA. Ann had a sister Sarah Burchett born 1809 Floyd Co., KY, BUT her spouse is shown as James Bruce and her parents were Benjamin and Susannah Burchett. I suspect the families are related. Rick
Rick, (again if I have it right) my direct line of Burchett seems to have come from Chatham, Kent Co. England over to Isle of Wight, Va. [ I have not done the proving on this information, soo many names, so little time.] Then to Brunswick co. and on to Lunenburg Co and Charlotte Co. and Floyd Co., Ky and finally to Boone Co., Wv. Shoot, I am having enough trouble finding the proof for the ones from 1800 to 1900. BTW, there was a Benjamin Hedford Burchett 1729, Brunswick Co. Va . in this line. He married Eveline Young, just to confuse everyone with a new surname. lol Gracie ----- Original Message ----- From: <rcs5@bellsouth.net> To: <WVLOGAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 27, 2006 5:26 PM Subject: [WVLOGAN] BURCHETT surname > Hello Gracie and Shelby - My gggg grandmother was Ann Burchett b. 1803 who married Absolem Pleasant Jordan 27 March 1821.
