My great-grandmother was the daughter of Marcena Vance Reeves and the granddaughter of James & Barbara Vance. She had a set of twins and a set of triplets and there may have been more who didn't survive. My Dad's 2nd wife lost twins 3 months into her pregnancy. Luckily everyone else in the family were singletons! I did notice a lot of twins when looking that census records in WV. ----- Original Message ----- From: "calisesi calisesi" <calisesi1@yahoo.com> To: <WVLOGAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, July 21, 2006 9:47 AM Subject: Re: [WVLOGAN] roflmho > Must be my husband's aunt.....she had three sets of twins, one set of > triplets..... > > Of course he told me this AFTER I was pregnant > > Christine Elkins <-----mother of twins > > gracie <g.winters@sbcglobal.net> wrote: > A census taker in a rural area went up to a farmhouse and knocked. > When a woman came to the door, he asked her how many children she had and > their ages. > She said, "Les' see now, there's the twins, Sally and Billy, they're > thirty-two. > And the twins, Seth & Beth, they're twenty-six. > And the twins, Penny and Jenny, they're twenty-four ... Twins: I married a twin born in 1946 in Logan county, WV. His mother's sister, (both were born Crabtrees) also had a set of twins. My mother-in-law told me once that she thought her twins might have been triplets, that she 'lost' something early in her pregnancy. My husband and his twin brother were born at their Grandmother Crabtree's house in Shamrock. They were early so the arrival of twins was a total surprise! Mrs. Damron had twin boys- mirror twins. Her sister Mrs. Gollihue had fraternal twins- a boy and a girl. Gloria Damron ~ > My great-grandmother was the daughter of Marcena Vance Reeves and the > granddaughter of James & Barbara Vance.
