I typed in Clothier,WV to Google and got the correct location ; twenty miles ne of Logan. They resorted to mapquest. Clothier was named for a Philadelphia attorney, who help start the Boone Co. Coal Corp. Shelby

Thanks for straightening me on the bride's resident county being the one in which the recording is done, when the marriage ceremony may be elsewhere. I can understand Artle Smith's allegiance to Boone county, as my late wife ( Norma) and I decided to marry in Boone county. My grandmother Canterbury, and my grandmother Hager, also were Boone county residents in earlier years. Her Hager ancestors hailed from neighboring Lincoln county, which was formed from Boone. The county line separates Clothier and Ottawa on Rte. 17 - the old Rte. 119. I've seen maps that put Spruce Fork totally in Boone Co. which is wrong as can be. He is listed as s/o Martha Buchanan and she as d/o Blackburn White. Kenis Cloyd Browning appears to have married second to Louella Perry d/o George Washington Perry and Abigail Perry. They are next door to George W. and Abby Perry in the 1920 Cabin Creek Dist., Kanawha County, West Virginia census. When you check the 1910 and 1900 census records they have a daughter Louella. Laura, I found her death certificate. Geraldine Curry, d/o CB Curry and Amelia White Born Jan. 15, 1927 in WV, died Nov. 26, 1952 at Huntington State Hospital, Cabell County, WV. Cause of death: asphyxiation due to being trapped in a burning building. Body removed to Matewan. I'm looking for additional information on this couple. Wallace J. Carey & Madeline I. Unknown Wallace was born 5/14/1918 d. Unknown Madeline was born 9/17/1919 d. 1978 I believe that Wallace's parents were Grover Carey and Bertha Curry. I found Grover Bertha & Children in the 1920 census in Mingo County.
