I got stung by a wasp once while visiting my Grandma and she put cut up onions on the sting. I was quite young so I don't remember the reason for it. Jane H - Lorain OH
My dad always swore by rubbing 3 different kind of leaves from weeds together until the juices mixed and then rub that on a sting when out somewhere away from the house. > Hello to the Logan List; > Dallas Baldwin, formerly of Blair, Logan Co. Another help is vanilla extract. Works like a champ Bonnie
Hello to the Logan List; Dallas Baldwin, formerly of Blair, Logan Co. WV, sent me a forwarded text, telling about a penny applied to a bee sting will dilute the toxins, and prevent swelling . It seems the copper in the penny does the work. He says to tape the penny over the sting for about an hour. Always have some pennys on hand during the Summer months ! Shelby
Plain ole mud works, apply and let dry. Ammonia also works great. Shelby, the change was made when all of the states have just a 2 letter abreviation, so it is definitely WV as Ohio is OH. It does get confusing, I have trouble remembering a lot of the states that I am not familiar with. Vernia >I am presently confused on the abbreviation of West Virginia addresses. Shelby, Several years ago, the Post Office changed all state abreviations to two lettes. West Virginia is now WV. The states that start with an M are difficult to remember. I put WV on letter addresses but use WVa otherwise. (http://patrickmead.net/?p=846) The above is a link to writings found in Boone Co. that are thought to date back to 700 AD to 800 AD by Irish monks. Does anyone know what part of Boone Co. the cave writings were found? The part about Boone Co. is over halfway down the article. Thank you. Rick Stewart P.S. I know I should write Boone Co. but I cannot get a message through.
Hello, I have a Ralph Horton in my family tree maker. He was married to Edna Russell. I believe they were in Logan County for a while. They had the following children.Wilma, Bertha, Zella, Ralph, William Harry, and Elsie May. Do any of these ring a bell? Also just looked and William Harry mentioned above died in 1956 in Logan County, he and his wife Ollie had the following children: Charles born about 1910, Virginia about 1916, William about 1918, James Ralph born about 1920 and Harry born about 1925. I hope this helps. Pat In a message dated 8/15/2009 12:53:55 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, lbaker@san.rr.com writes: This message was left in the guest book on my site.
