Laura, Joel, From the Logan County Marriage Records: Allen Browning (23), s/o James B. and Ann Browning, married Emily Daniel (22), d/o Mont and Emily (Ellis) Daniel, on 8/24/1901. The records are in such bad shape that I may have misread James' middle initial; I will take another look one of these days. Someone annotated that the maiden name for Ann was Mills, in which case that does not compute with the other info we have. Jim; Willard Burgess had an old Underwood typewriter that he used in his store. He used the hunt & peck method. He was a Notary Public,so the old manuel typewriter came in handy. About McConnell, wasnt it called Steamwell Crossing at one time ? I always admired the Claude Gore house beside Rt 10.at McConnell. Yes, anyone of an advanced age was called uncle & aunt, although they were no kin; a title of respect. Shelby
