    3. Shelby, That must have been a thing with the Lawson family. Anthony's stone says about the same thing. Scared to the memory of Anthony Lawson Sr who departed this life on his return from Philadelphia at Guyandotte, Virginia on the 20th of May 1847 at 25 minutes after 2'oclock May he rest in peace. Anthony is buried at Guyandotte, West Virginia. It is or was known then at the Guyandotte Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery. The Cemetery is separate from the church. Also known as the City Cemetery in Guyandotte. 3. Toler Ladies (Unknown Parents) Please accept my apologies if you receive this email several times! We have four Toler ladies that have unidentified parents. We are looking for descendants who may be able to document their parents and provide other information on descendants! These ladies must be daughters of Zachariah Toler, Elisha Toler and William Toler! Can you help us identify their parents? 1. Susannah Toler was born about 1812 in Virginia. Susannah Toler married Elijah Canada 13 Sep 1833 in Pike County, Kentucky. Elijah Canada was born about 1798 in North Carolina. Note: They named a son Marcus Patterson Toler 4 Mar 1858 in Wyoming County, West Virginia. Thanks to Vanessa Toler we believe that Susannah Toler was the daughter of William Toler and Elizabeth Harvey who married Mark Patterson Duncan. We conclude that Susannah was the daughter of William Toler and Elizabeth Harvey based on that naming pattern. 2. Levicy or Vina Toler was born about 1822 in Virginia. Levicy or Vina Toler married William GRIMMETT about 1837 in Logan County, Virginia. William Grimmett and Levicy Toler had a large family in Logan County. William Grimmett was the son of John GRIMMETT and Delilah. 3. Rebecca A Toler was born about 1830 in Logan County, Virginia. Rebecca Henry BELCHER about 1846 in Logan County, Virginia. We believe that Henry was the son of John Belcher and Jane Nuchols. They to raised a large family in Logan County, Virginia. 4. Julia or Juliet Toler was born about 1830 in Logan County, Virginia. Julia married Andrew Browning about 1848 in Logan County, Virginia. Andrew Browning was the son of William Browning and Rebecca Toler. They raised a large family in Logan County. Note: Note: Andrew is NOT the Anderson Browning son of Simeon Browning and Mary Browning of Buffalo Creek, Logan County, West Virginia! We are looking for descendants or information regarding the parents of these Toler Ladies. Also we are trying to find Toler men or other Toler ladies that have unidentified parents who lived in the Logan County or Wyoming County area. We have information on their descendants and are trying to fill in the gaps on these Toler ladies. Please contact Jim Burgess if you have an interest! Thanks Jim Burgess

    3. Phyllis~ I haven't been online in a while, but am trying to catch up on my e-mails now. I noticed you are familiar with the Elkins line. My line goes through Elijah (1799) and Martha (1801) Elkins.....Elijah was the son of William....it's William's wife and other children that I am having a time locating. Martha was the daughter of Richard Elkins and Nancy Leslie....she and Elijah would have been first cousins. As for Christine/Christinana, I have two in my file. The daughter of Marvil and Rhoda Elkins, and the other is the daughter of Ralph and Mary, married to a John Smith. It sounds as though you already have this information, though. Christine Elkins West TN Harts High School <hartshighschool@yahoo.com> wrote: Benny, I still think that Christine/ Christianna Elkins that married a Vance was Old Marvel's daughter, but al the census dates say no. The one across the road and creek from Buster Kirks old home place is one for example, Buster always said that the only place to bury someone was near the back since the rest was full of unmarked graves. My dad have two small brothers buried there. Another one is the Caldwell Cemetery on up Piney and that is where Elizabeth Kirk is buried, my first cousin Ida McCloud who is 84 told me that she went with grandma Christeanna to decorate her mom's grave (back in the 40's) and that she was buried on the upper side of the cemetery near the upper end and there are only rocks there for markers. Elizabeth was a Maynard and married a Kirk then Marvel Vance. By the way i have a picture of Elizabeth and Marvel taken about 1890. Yes, i spent almost 30 years working for the gas company mostly in the southern part of WV and parts of KY. Thanks Bye Benny ============================== Search the US Census Collection. 3. Hi Jim Yep, just hadn't gone to www.surnames.com this evening for the Mullins line. Sooo I just went. Now you may enter the information on the two kids, Margaret H. and Melvin B. if i got them right tonight. Margaret I am sure about, Melvin, I have some questions cause I believe there was another Melvin B. born about the same time. Need a little conformation from someone who decends from this line. Or someone who has records from WV., mayby a marriage license. On the William C. (Margaret) Clark, it would be nice to have the land/house record from McComas, Cabell Co. if possible. BTW, I have a picture of two BACON boys taken in Ks. if you are interested. I don't think they are relatives of mine but am not sure. Mayby just neighbors of my Ks. families. And I don't remember where their family originated. Did research them but don't know where that is hidden in puter. I think the picture was taken abt 1890, failing memory or just too many surnames. http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/message/an/surnames.bacon/1177 Gracie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Burgess" <jim@promobiz.biz> To: <g.winters@sbcglobal.net> Sent: Wednesday, June 21, 2006 10:13 PM Subject: RE: [WVLOGAN] John R. Oh, carp means carpenter. Gotta love my shorthand typing. Slsmn gen str means Salesman in General Store. hse=house. Anyone have any idea about that General Store in Logan, Logan Co.????? 3. Gracie, Thanks for the information. I have filed this to be added into the Toler family. Not sure but I may work on the Mullins family after the Toler family is in line. thanks Jim Burgess -----Original Message----- From: gracie [mailto:g.winters@sbcglobal.net] Sent: Wednesday, June 21, 2006 9:29 PM To: WVLOGAN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WVLOGAN] John R. Mullins and Rhoda Baisden Hi Jim Yep, just hadn't gone to www.surnames.com this evening for the Mullins line. 3. Ok, first, apparently John R. died 21? Sep 1912 in Logan Co., Wv. so he didn't show up in the 1920 census, duhhh. But I did find this about his daughter, Margaret and regardless of what one of the gedcoms said, she did not marry her son , Lamar. rofl We all make mistakes, I guess.
