    3. Lora, This is the information that I have for the Black Family Cemetery in Myra. If I remember right the person that had this page was a Julian Adkins, Jr. (I think) I haven't been able to find him anymore. I used to email him, but the email address I have for him doesn't work anymore and the page doesn't exit anymore. This comes from a website that doesn't seem to exist anymore. I hope this comes through alright. If it doesn't let me know and I will send the file exactly like I have it in a word document. The directions on how to get to the cemetery are different from the way my aunt took me a few years ago. Some where I have some pictures of some of the tombstones. (unless they are some that I lost when my computer crashed.) If anyone else has the information for the Miller cemetery could you send it to the Lincoln list. I noticed Lora has the reply to herself and not the list. Thanks. Jane From::: http://hometown.aol.com/julmans/Tracecreek4.html THE BLACK FAMILY CEMETERY Hattie (Black) Scites: ( Nov 3, 1888-1960), Died at age 72, was a great woman. Born and raised at Trace Creek. She loved Music and Theatre. Daughter of W. F.Black. LOCATION: The Black Family Cemetery is located at the crest of the hill between Trace Creek and Big Laurel Creek about seven miles south of Hamlin, Lincoln County, West Virginia. To go there take the West Hamlin road west of Hamlin one mile to the to the Upper Mud River Road go south or left to the Myra Store a distance of over six miles, at the Blacks store at Myra take the dirt road going left on to Sand Lick road. Follow this road about one and a half miles up the creek and the cemetery is on the left at the crest of the hill. (Do not attempt this travel in rain or snow, my personal experience) ROW 1 1. THE BLACK FAMILY CEMETARY The Black Family Cemetary had its beginnings in 1867 with the death of Sara Jane Black when the flood waters of the Mud river caused the road to Hamlin Cemetary impassible. A new burial place had to be found, this caused the creation of the Black Family cemetary on Big Laurel Ridge above Trace Creek. Later, the cemetary was deeded to Walnut Grove Methodist church about a half mile away, down the one lane dusty road in the valley of Trace Creek by the owner James C. Black James C. Black was the owner of 1,970 acres on Trace Creek. James was the son of Adam Black and Lucy Eliza Mary Jane Brown who settled in Teays Valley Virginia in 1809. Adam and family later moved to Ona Virginia where he started a Wayside Tavern named Mount Pleasant, which stood till 1983. BLACK FAMILY CEMETARY LOCATED ON BIG LAUREL RIDGE JUST ABOVE TRACE CREEK Libby (Black) Lawson is the proprieter and care taker of the cemetary. BLACK FAMILY CEMETERY RECORDS
