I have researched the Spurlock family for several years and have a large file I am willing to share. Of particular interst to me is: Charles Buchannon Spurlock 1773 - 1857 Married Barthenia Dial Hager 1780 - 1880 Charles is buried in the Spurlock Family Cemetery above the Spurlockville Post Office. It is at the top of a bank on the right, you walk up an old gas line. There are only 2 graves that can be identified, Charles and Robinson Spurlock. Charles was said to be a highly educated Physcian having received his training in Scotland. Charles was also reported to be a large man about 300 lbs and loved the outdoor life. Spurlocksville was most probably named after Charles Buchannon Spurlock. Charles was said to have bought 1,500 acres on the left turn of Uptons Creek. Charles and Barthenia had 10 children. I descend from Seth Spurlock 1826 - 1923 and Jane Hart 1833 - 1913 my Great Granparents. They are both buried in the Pea Ridge Cemetery. I am trying to determine if Charles Buchannon Spurlock was a doctor of some type or was he a farmer like most of the other people at this time. Also looking for the grave of Barthenia.
