Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZCC.2ACE/1293.1 Message Board Post: I've recently looked at this family line. However my search began with a headstone located in the Porter cemetery, Myra, WV. It's a handmade headstone which has the letters W E T(or a backwards looking J or maybe an L - if it is a J or L, the top of the letter has a line across it like a T does) and the letter H. Birth date is given as Feb. 27 18?? or 19?? and the death date as Sep. 28, 1920. In searching the online death records I found one possible match, a Willard H. Bird who died on Sept. 28, 1920 at the age of 4 and a half years. He was the son of William B. Bird and Ethel Gertrude Hinkle Bird. If it is indeed Willards headstone, it may read WEL (WILL?) and middle initial H. This family was in the right place for a child to be buried in this cemetery. Anyhow, looking up the family I find William listed in the 1920 census with a daughter, Pansie H. listed next then William's wife, Ethel and children Homer J., Willard H., Harry P., Lewis R. and a step-brother Jack! Lawson who is 50 years old. Going further back I found Silas and Lovey Bird and Jack Lawson living with them and listed as a step-son. So I think Lovey may have married a Lawson first. That's all the research I did on this family as my main goal is to identify the person belonging to the headstone. If you can verify that, please let me know.
