Hamlin - Herston Clay, 78, of Hamlin died Sept. 30, 2000, in St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, after a long illness. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving: daughter, Leslie Stephens of Columbia, SC; sisters, Janie Browning of Hamlin, Gloria Jean McCallister of West Hamlin; two grandchildren. Graveside services were held 2 p.m. at Nelson-Holton Cemetery, Salt Rock. Military graveside rites were conducted by American Legion Post 111.
