    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZCC.2ACE/1314.3 Message Board Post: I believe there is some sort of misunderstanding here. First, the Lincoln Genealogical Society is NOT a part of the Hamlin Library. The Lincoln Genealogical Society's resources are located at the library and are available for use anytime the library is open. Second, there will never be anyone there to assist you with your research, as the Lincoln Genealogical Society, nor the Hamlin Library has the manpower to be able do that. The librarians there do the best they can. Lincoln County is now, just as it has always been, a very poor county, with very little operating funds for anything. Third, Elwanda Smith is no longer the president of the Lincoln Genealogical Society, I am, and have been since the February 2005 meeting. If you saw her address posted on the Lincoln Genealogical Society website, that address may not be a good one. That website hasn't been updated since September 2003, and does not belong to the Society, but was set up by a member of the Society who has had som! e personal problems and not been able to attend meetings and etc. as in the past. The Lincoln Genealogical Society operates on a shoestring. Most meetings will usually find 3 of 4 officers and perhaps 2 other members in attendance. It's hard to be a productive society when others care so little. Our goal is to try and preserve as much Lincoln County history as possible. It's almost impossible without the help and support of caring people. Patty Butcher Tyler President, Lincoln Genealogical Society
