    1. [WVLINCOL] BIAS_BYUS_BYAS FAMILY REUNION at Huntington WV, 2003
    2. william & carrie hoffert
    3. If everyone will please read this and then send me an email on your personal opinion, it would give me an idea if this may be a good idea. All I need to know at this point is; 1. would any of you be interested and an ESTIMATE of how many from your family might attend. So, please give this some consideration, contact me by email (Below) and let me know if you may be interested. IF, we were to have a BIAS-BYUS-BYAS family reunion in EARLY MAY of 2003, over a weekend, in HUNTINGTON, WV, would any of you be interested in attending? This is NOT just for Bias Family members that are into genealogy, but for any and all family members. We would plan some activities that are not about genealogy as well. After all everyone is NOT into "family research" as some of us are. Hopefully they would still want to come to a BIAS family reunion. PLEASE remember as you are thinking about this that all of our family members do not have the BIAS-BYUS-BYAS name, some have changed due to marriage, but they are certainly Bias family members and may want to attend. Please pass this info onto others in your family that do not use this mailing list or are not members of the BIAS_BYUS_BYAS FAMILY site on MyFamily.com. If there is enough interest and it would make sense to plan a reunion then we will do so, if not we will forget it. So far the response is looking very good. I thought we could see if we might use a Park for a large outdoor gathering one afternoon/evening. I will contact the Parks dept. to see if a location is available. Also we would need a central meeting room in which all of us "genealogy nuts" could meet and exchange information, photos and all of the other good stuff that we have all been finding. If we wait until next year to think about this, it will be way to late to try and put it together, Please, THIS IS NOT a commitment, just a gauge of interest. I would think a weekend works best for those that need to work. Thanks, Carrie Bias Hoffert

    1. Re: [WVLINCOL] Albert Meeker Staley (1869-1949)
    2. I am trying to track down some oral family lore that claims that Albert M. Staley had been in business with a man named Lambert (and that Lambert owned a clothing store in Wayne or Lincoln Counties), and there is also a story about Staley having been a horse thief. In all likelihood, these events would have occurred somewhere between 1887 - 1929. Does anyone have any information about this man (my g-grandfather) or about a Lambert store in the area of Wayne or Lincoln County? Any help appreciated. One of her sons was Albert Meeker Staley and there were probably two other children, but their names, sexes, and birthdates are not yet known. Albert Meeker Staley then married Olivia Francis Thacker, b.1870 in Ceredo, WV and d. 1948 in Wayne. Married 1895 in Wayne. They had Claude, Flora, Bertha, Lethy, Archie, Elmer and Arthur. My brother-in-law has been able to send short emails from the company that he went to work with, so at least we are getting some information from them. Anyway...
