(no "s" on the end of the name). Do you think that is a possible? The families in this Warren County continued to live there for decades. The couple you seek could have moved on to another area by the time they start their faimly - but Warren County might be a place to start. (The MELROY is also spelled Milroy and Millroy on the censuses).

There was a MELROY family and a MANN family living in Warren County, New Jersey .. in the 1830 thru 1850s. They are listed on the censuses. The towns (Oxford .. Belvidere were very small and rather isolated. If you have access to Ancestry.com... to the censuses... do a search for the names in that county ... in those years. See what you find.

I am with the Lincoln Journal and I am working on an article about towns in Lincoln Co. that have just "dissappeared". Some examples are: Bernie, Hager, Allen, Pucketsville and Easy. I want to write about the origens of these towns and the circumstances of thier dissolving. Did they have churches, schools, etc...? Who lived there? What are they called now (the towns, that is)? I would appreciate any responses or source material that would help with my research. Thanks, Valerie J. Carpenter Lincoln Journal Reporter
