My Grandfather, Albert Russell Gartin, was his son by his second wife, Nancy (Elkins) Gartin. The only information I have on his burial site is, that he was buried on LIttle Hart's Creek, about two (2) miles from the Guyandotte River, in Lincoln County, WV. The grave is on his old farm, which he purchased in, 1857. His grave is not marked. A stone was placed on the farm by, Nora Nicholas, daughter of, John Gartin, and a cousin, Wabern Gartin, son of, Joseph Gartin. It is dated only, 1800. The information I have is that, Elijah was born in, 1797, and died in, 1867. I am sorry, I have nothing on, Mary "Polly" Carper. I hope this information will be of help to you. I wish Great-Grandfather did have a headstone, I would love to put flowers on his grave. I never knew my Grandfather Albert, either. He died when Dad was just a boy.
