Surnames: Dolin, Hilderbrand, Miller, Butler Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZCC.2ACE/394.444.1 Message Board Post: I have bee researching my family, and trying to find my mom. I have found that I have an Minnie in my family. I have many looseends, particularly on the Dolin side. I have little leads, but I am praying that this may be something. My mom Dolly Nadene Dolin had me in 11-11-1971, and passed away a few years later, she was hit by a car. With little info to go on, I have been looking for a long time.Recently found info at Rootsweb.com and Ancestry.com, that lead me to a 10 generation breakdown of my lost family. On that list was Minnie, and then it was verified by some family that I had found that emailed me back. Please let me know if you have any info on the Dolin side that may be helpful.Obert Clyde Dolin, and Joseph p.Dolin were other names i came accross, do these sound familiar? Im not sure if the middle initial is correct for Joseph Dolin. My mother was Dolly Nadene Dolin.Thankyou for your time and help. Leo

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. It is now awaiting signature from Governor Wise to make it law. If you are a family genealogist/historian whose research involves West Virginia, then this bill affects your work whether you live in West Virginia or another state. If Governor Wise signs HB 4330, all birth records will be closed to public access for 100 years and all death records closed for 50 years. Please email Governor: Governor@WVGOV.org

    1. [WVLINCOL] Please Veto HB4330
    2. Charlie Brannen
    3. Dear Goveror Wise, As a resident of the state of West Virginia first and as the primary genealogist of my wife's and my families I would like to ask you to veto HB4330. I am sure the intentions were valid but the writer of the bill does not have a thorough understanding of the genealogic process as it relates to birth and death records. The current restictions in the bill would have an extremely negative impact on those of us doing genealogical research. I am sure the bill could be revisited next session with more input from those involved in genealogic research and a better bill could be crafted. I thank you in advance for your understanding and help in this matter. Sincerely, Charles R. Brannen 2922 Shadyside Road Saint Albans, WV 25177

    1. [WVLINCOL] House Bill 4330 - concerning birth records
    2. Jane
    3. Hi, I received this email from a list that I am on in WV. I thought everyone would want to know what is happening in one of our states that could cause genealogists problems. Last Saturday, March 13, in the WV Legislature,House Bill 4330 passed. We are all concerned about privacy issues but HB 4330 in its current format is too restrictive. Please email Governor Wise and address your concerns. Don't delay. The governor's email address is Governor@WVGOV.org If you would like to examine HB 4330 then cut and paste the URL below. Remember to sign your email with your full name and address. http://www.legis.state.wv.us/legishp.html Jane

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ZCC.2ACE/1190 Message Board Post: Does anyone know if there is a Springhill/Spring Hill Cemetery in Lincoln County? I have ancestors supposedly buried at the Charleston Spring Hill Cemetery, but a look-up in that cemetery book didn't show them. They died in the 1970's and the cemetery book was published in the 1990's. From a couple sites online it looks as though there might be one close to Alum Creek which might be the one I am looking for. If anyone knows of a Springhill/Spring Hill around Alum Creek, and can give me the driving directions, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you. Sandra
