She married Abraham H. Midkiff Feb. 7, 1856 in Cabell County. He was born in 1835 and died Aug. 26, 1918. I only know of one son, Newton Midkiff. There are more, I'm sure. I do not have anything on the George A. Swann you asked about. I would like to have any dates or info you have on him so I can search him out.

He was listed in the Charleston Dailey Gazette on June 6, 1897. I found this informaiton in the WV Newspapers Obituaries 1822-1899 Volume 1 KVGS.

Swann Midkiff was daughter of John Kelley Swann & Nancy Barrett Adkins. He was a son of Thomas Rezin Swann who lived along Smith Creek in Cabell County. He and his wife, Isabelle Kelley, had 12 children. The youngest was America (Mar. 27, 1831 - 1894) who married Preston McCallister (1827 - ?) about 1855. Thus America is an Aunt to Isabelle (Swann) Midkiff. I am a descendant of Thomas' older brother Leven C. Swann who settled at Ousley's Gap, across the Guyan River from Smith & Merritt's Creek, in Cabell County.

    1. [WVLINCOL] Two Marindas in 1880
    2. I am hoping someone can help me please? I found Thomas T or (T T ) Adkins in 1880 in Carroll District and he is married to a girl named Marinda. I also found on the 1880 Census of Lincoln County Thomas Burns 38 and his wife is Marinda 36. Both of these Marindas are the same age. Can anyone tell me who each of these ladies parents were? I know that at least one of the Marinda's was a daughter of Hamilton Adkins and Jane Bragg Lovejoy but who was the other one and which Marinda is the daughter of Hamilton and Jane? Thanks so much Pat
