My Aunt who still lives in W.V. told me that my Grandfather Will Adkins witnessed the shooting of Constable Bird Brumfield by a person called Rome Lambert, and that he tried to run away from the shooting but was shot in the back and later died from injuries sustained. This supposedly happened in 1922, and my grandfather died in 1923. I am wondering if anyone has any information about this or knows how I could go about verifying this information. I did a search on Topozone.com for browning cemetery, and it only found one in Lincoln Co, but that one is near Harts.
