Does anyone have any information as to when Emily/Sarah Harris died? She was the daughter of Theopolis Roberts and Malinda Turner and she married Samuel Harris in 1873. They lived in Lincoln County and I believe she is probably buried along with Samuel Harris in the Harris Cemetery on Scarey Creek off Route 3. I found a death certificate for Samuel Harris saying he was 96 and a widower in 1934 so of course Sarah died before him. I have been told she was also known as Aunt Sis. Any information at all would be a benefit to me on this one. Thanks Pat

Does anyone have information about a Doris Roberts who was born in 1898 she was a daughter of George Roberts and Hattie Dingess Roberts. They lived in Sweetland in the 1900 Census Doris was 1 year old and in 1910 she was 11 years and then in 1920 I cannot find her she probably married but when I put in a search for Doris in 1920 in Lincoln do not come up with much espeically born in 1898. If this is the person you are seeking, you might try contacting the Hamlin library for an obit. Arlie Browning died in March 1992. An obit was published in the Charleston Daily Mail on 7 March 1992. Lola Faye Mahone of Griffithsville died 30 Jan. 1993. There was on obit in the Daily Mail. I do not live in WV, so can't help you directly. You can get Daily Mail obits on-line and/or the Hamilin Library might help with them as well. Good luck with your search.

Hubert died either late june or early july 1956, I think in lincoln county. They lived in Big Ugly, and I think they moved to w hamlin, or she moved there after his death. Daughter was Faye Mahone, she passed away 1998 (?) Griffithsville. My uncle Arlie passed away in Huntington I think 1988. My father Stacy passed 11-2-66, aunt Bettie buried next to him, she passed about 4 yrs ago. All in Browning cemetary that is up on the mountain just as you go down the road leading to Harts creek, off rte 10 by Atenville school. There is a big gas station there on rte 10 where you turn. Also anyone who remembers Pat and Lucy Riffe (Earl is still back there with his wife Bev) and any of their kin, or Ora Lowe and her kin, or if you are kin, please email me. My Mom Elsie still alive. Pat, Is there any way the name Hudson may have been miswritten as Hedson? And would the Hudson be somewhere in the Sweetland area? I have a location for a Hedson Cemetery with a record of one burial of a Civil War soldier there. I have never been to this cemetery, so I do not have a transcription of it, I just have some old cemetery records I am working on for a Lincoln County Genealogical Society Cemetery book (for future publication). This is the closest I can come to Hudson, and I was thinking this could be a mistake in spelling. Patty

Maude K. Elkins, maiden name unknown, born Jan. 14, 1915 and died Oct. 12, 1961. Buried in the Edwards cemetery, Myra, Lincoln Co. Says "MOTHER" on the headstone. I'm trying to learn who Maude's parents and/or siblings were. She has some kind of connection, either by birth or marriage to the Edwards line. Those buried closest to her include Hallie and Edith (unknown) Edwards, Mabel (Dean) Scites, and Ethel (Burns) Mason - all direct descendants of John Wesley and Elizabeth C. (Jones) Edwards.
