Genevie Green was married to Townsell (not sure about the exact spelling) Green, they adopted ) not legally my grandmother Maxine Higginbottom, she then married my grandfather Paul Gibson from Van, WV. Townsell raised my father Estle Lawrence "Buddy" Gibson. My father claimed that she died when he was 18 months old which would have been in 1943. Sorry it may not be what you are looking for, I just came across post just by pure luck!

He was born Jan. 13, 1840 in Virginia (no county given) his parents were Catherin Sawyer and George Sponaugle and the person who reported his death was S L. Sponaugle of Hamlin. I take this to be Samuel Lewis Sponaugle, whose death record/certificate is also located at the archives website, and he is buried in the Harvey Creek Cemetery. His parents are given as Sarah Marks and George Sponaugle.
