    1. death place vs residence
    2. Just want to say thanks for all the input on my previous e-mail. Most people do put the actual place the person died and add the information of their last residence into the notes, with some explaining the reason for the different locations when necessary. That's what I've been doing in the current file I'm working on so it will be okay. I've also added "Death Certificate" into the facts field and have been including those with the certificate number as I find them. I want to make sure that when I share my files with others that the information is correct and complete as possible and easy to understand. I'll have to go through my old files to check for updates and corrections and fix any death locations with those. As always, any tips or suggestions that you may come up with that wasn't in any of the FTM fields are always welcomed. Thanks to all Lora

    1. FTM death location box
    2. My grandmother was living in Branchland when she died so in the death location box I have entered Branchland, Lincoln Co., WV. However, she actually died in Huntington, Cabell Co. I'm wondering if most people are entering the place the person was living when they died or the place they actually died when the counties or even states may be different from each other. And good example of how it can confuse things is one ancestor who had been living in Lincoln Co. when they died was impossible to find any records of her death because she actually died in Ohio while visiting her daughter. The family file I received had her death location listed as Lincoln Co which explains the long delay in finding any info on her death. I was looking in WV the whole time. I know either the death information or last residence can be put into the notes field but I'm just wondering which location most people enter in the death box. Lora

    1. Rev. Black of Myra
    2. My grandparents were married by a Rev. Black in Myra, WV on Dec. 24, 1933. I'm hoping to learn the first name of the Reverend. The best I can do to help identify him is a description of where he lived. Following Upper Mud River Road to Myra coming from W. Hamlin, there was an old steel bridge that was crossed and just ahead of the bridge is the 2 story house were the Reverend Black lived and performed the marriage of my grandparents. To the left of the old house is the Black General Store which is still standing but closed down now. The store used to have a post office in it as well. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Lora

    1. John W Black and son Arvil
    2. Hello, I am trying to find some information about John W Black and his family especially his son Arvil. I believe that John W Black, had a daughter Arminta who was married to William Curtis Nida. They are on the 1910 Census. Then John W Black had a son named Arvil who was born about 1877 and I know he was married to a gal named Lizzie Tabor and she died in 1956 and Arvil died in 1943. Was Arvil married before? I believe he was married to a girl named Cassie (this information from the Black Family Cemetery). What was Cassie's maiden name? Hope someone can give me some information about Cassie. She died in childbirth with Arvil's infant daughter according to the cemetery records. Was Cassie Catherine Emaline Nida sister to William Curtis Nida? The Cassie in the cemetery died in 1906. Love to hear from anyone who can give me some information or refer me to someone who might be able to help me. Pat

We don't know if Henry McNeely is really the name of his father or any other info except that possiablly he was born in LincolnCo. or Logon or Mingo Co. he died in Wayne Co. in 1933 & was 54 when he died so that would put his birth at 1879or 78. finding a paper trail on this family has been a struggle.
