It was the Lincoln County Genealogy Society and it's members that put together the book and had it published. The society may soon have a solution to the Lincoln County and it's People book problem. It may not be the most ideal solution, which would be a reprint of the original, but it is usable, at least for everyone who has a computer. Unfortunately the society doesn't have the funds to do a reprint. At one time the Boone County Genealogy Society had discussed doing a reprint for Lincoln County and had asked permission to do so, but could not find anyone who was willing to let their book be torn apart for the reprinting process. The solution is to put the book on CD in .pdf format with each page printable to the user of the CD. The pages can be zoomed in on and seen up close. In order to place it in .pdf format a book had to be found to be copied, and the copied page had to be reduced in size to fit the scanner bed, as the original is an oversized book. The end result is pretty good for a copy, but not quite the quality of the original book, of course. The society has plans to add some old photo's of Lincoln County to the CD, in .jpg format, but permisson to use some of the photo's that are already scanned is holding up progress. The scanning process has already been done on the book and that part is ready to go. The society should have the CD ready for sale sometime real soon, if anyone is interested.
