    2. FYI Lincoln County researchers. For anyone who had a relative they'd like to honor who attended a Lincoln County High School, or in honor of your own attendance, engraved bricks are being sold to honor those persons who attended either Hamlin, Harts, Duval, or Guyan Valley. There will be three lines in each brick. Two names may fit on one brick, the high school attended and the years or the class are acceptable wordings. To purchase a brick please contact Olive Hager at 304-824-3369. The bricks will be placed in a prominent position near the main entrance to the new Lincoln County High School. If this is something you'd like to participate in, please contact Ms. Hager very soon, I have heard there are only 3 weeks left to get your order in. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZCC.2ACE/1407 Message Board Post: I recently discovered that my grandfather' s 1/2 brother Asa McCormick had several 1/2 brothers and sisters on his mother's side that I never heard of. My grandfather Garneth McCormick and Asa were the sons of George Washington McCormick of the McCorkle area. Asa's mother was Bettie Hill. George and Bettie divorced and George married again to Serepty Smith. Bettie must have married an Adkins. Here is a list of Uncle Asa's (or Acey as it was pronounced) mother's other children and where the 1/2 brothers were living in 1960 when Asa died: Spence and Bill Adkins, both of Spurlockville, Mrs. Maggie Adkins, Mrs. Mary Hill and Mrs. Sally White. Does anyone have any additional information on this side of his family? Asa lived most of adult life in Boone County, but had deep ties to Lincoln. I have found more than one Spence Adkins. Bettie's son may have been named for a kinsman of named Spencer Hill.

It seems that there is two Alice A Lewis's that both married a James C. Burns. One having a father of JC and the other with the father of David. The information on James C Burns death cert. says his father was JC Burns born in Ohio., but census records say VA/ WV and Alice was born in Ohio. It is getting a bit confussing. I don't know if the boundry lines changed or just put the wrong info down. But I can't imagine the Alice and James I am tracking having the same children as the other Alice and James. So I wanted to double check that we are talking about the same Alice Burns. Thanks
