One way to get there is to go South on Route 10 and turn right at the 10-Mile Road exit. It is several miles, and the road becomes a dirt road. Turn right and go up a hill at the Upper Ten Mile Church. The cemetery is about 1 to 2 miles up the hill on the left. I'm thinking Russell and Martha may also be buried there. However, they may be buried on "around the ridge" at the Sanders Cemetery (this cemetery also has another entrance). I don't know who Ella Williamson Dean is. By the way, Henry Dean was my dad's first cousin.

Hello I am new to this list. I am searching for any information on the name Kessler/Kesler. Dr. Archibald Kenton (A.K.) first practiced in Alderson and Hominy Falls, WV. He later moved to Hinton, where he opened a small hospital. March 1898 Archibald K. Kessler, M.D., opened a hospital in Clarksburg, WV on the corner of Water Street and Washington Avenue. In 1904 Dr. A.K. Kessler decided to come to Huntington to build a second institution. The result was the Kessler Hospital and Sanitarium, which was located on the southwest corner of 4th Ave. and 5th. St. In addition to the hospital, Dr. Kessler started a school of nursing in that same year. In 1907, fourteen women were graduated from the school. After Dr. Henry Hatfield stepped down as governor of WV in 1917, he went into partnership with Dr. Kessler at his new location built in 1910 and opening in 1911, at 1st. St. and 6th Ave. It was also in 1917 that the main three-story building was added. The Kessler-Hatfield Hospital, was renamed Huntington Memorial Hospital in 1928. Dr. A.K. Kessler and his wife Heneretta (Etta) Price lived at 326 W 6th Ave in 1944. They attended Fifth Ave Baptist Church and had four children, Opie Cecil Kessler b & d 1894, Noca/Nokah Kessler m. Festes Oval Marple, Archibald Donald Kessler m. Perk Vinson and Margie Kessler m. Lewis Gates Hoyt. I would be interested in exchanging with anyone working these Marple, Vinson or Hoyt lines that could give me more information. A brother of Dr. Archibald K. Kessler was Dr. Joseph Crane Kessler. He ran the Gauley Summit Sanitarium with another brother Dr. Daniel Peck Kessler in Cowen, WV. He moved to Huntington in 1914 to be associated with the Kessler-Hatfield Hospital for a number of years. He moved his practice to Hamlin, WV in 1926 where he remained active until 1940 when he retired because of ill health. Several items of historical interest belonging to him were donated to a medical museum in Huntington, WV. Joseph C. Kessler and his wife Delora Belle Kagy, had three children, Thelma Ruth Kessler, Arthur Kagy Kessler b1905 & d 1906, Terzah Elizabeth Kessler m. Wilbur Clair Dickson. Dr Joe and Delora also raised a nephew of Dr Joe's named James (Jim or Jimmy) Peck Kessler b. 1913. By fall of 1922 James P. Kessler he was living in Huntington, WV and attending the 5th Ave. Baptist Church and was still attending there in 1926. In April 1928 he graduated elementary school and in May 1933 he graduated from Carroll District High School, Hamlin, WV. Any information at all about James P. Kessler would be appreciated. No bits of information on any of the above would be to small and I would be most appreciative for any help. Thanks you, Karen Kessler Cottrill WV Kessler/Kesler/Keslar Family Historian I am making no claims that the above information is correct and should not be posted as so. This is being given as personal information to be used for further research and not all has been documented.

Hi Ralph, This may be a long shot, but have you checked in Ohio for your older Silas? There were a lot of migrations out of that area in WV into what is now Lawrence, Gallia, Meigs, Vinton and Jackson counties up here in Ohio. There are quite a few Fannins now living in Vinton County, Ohio. Just a long shot, but you might find something. Take care, Ruth Webb-Duffy Ralph H Sayre wrote: >>From late June to July 1, I posted messages on this list and about 20 >others. I want to thank all those who gave and offered help. From late June to July 1, I posted messages on this list and about 20 others. I want to thank all those who gave and offered help. Bottom line though, Im still in search for a clue to Silas Fannins last days, with place and date of death. Several who replied had found the information posted by Deborah Maynard Chatley saying Silas and Polly died in Wyoming county, WV. Ive checked those statements in every way I know and found no verification. I suspect they are not true. Replies to my message have dwindled away, so I will be unsubscribing soon. Im getting too much mail not applicable to my situation. If anyone should find any record pertaining to Silas Fannin after 1887 somewhere, please email me at rhsayre@excite.com. I need to point out again that Silas had a grandson named Silas Fannin who settled in Lincoln county, WV about 1900. Im interested in finding information about the older Silas Fannin, b. about 1822 in KY. Thank you. Ralph H. Sayre rhsayre@excite.com

Anyone travelling to the Lincoln County courthouse this summer, please take a quick look in records 1887 - 1895 for my ancestor, Silas FANNIN who was born about 1822 in Kentucky. He performed marriages in Wayne County, WV 1870 - 1887. He and the youngest part of his family disappeared from Wayne County records after 1887. If you find any record of him, please let me know what is written. I know about the Silas Fannin, s/o Easton Fannin who lived in Sheridan District Lincoln county in the early 1900s. That Silas was grandson of the Silas Fannin Im looking for. I am not able to check all the county records myself. You can email me at rhsayre@excite.com

Trying to figure out 5 people who were listed with Franklin and Ida Johnson in the 1850 census records. They are: Carolin Adkins, about 20 Nolton Adkins, about 21 Mahala Adkins, about 14 Malinda Person, about 14 Elmina Person, about 12 Name spelling could actually be slightly different as I copied the names as is from the census. They are not grandchildren of Franklin and Ida Johnson but they could be nieces and nephews. I don't have anything on Franklin or Ida's parents or any siblings to be able to check that out. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Lora
Dear Shirley Armstrong, According to the marriage record for James H. Amstrong he is the son of William and Mary Armstrong and was born in Craig Co., VA. I have heard that he and Thomas may be related. They could be half brothers though. James was still alive for the 1910 census but deceased by the 1920. I haven't found a death record for him. Silenia died in 1925 but her death record doesn't include the place she was buried. The pictures of headstones located in the Edwards cemetery on Mud River Road, near Myra, have been loaded into the Findagrave website.
