Surnames: LAWSON, PLUMLEY, LAWRENCE Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZCC.2ACE/1264.1 Message Board Post: This family is extremely difficult to reseach. There is very little documentation available, or at least very little that has been found and it is quite possible that the mother of William "Buck" Lawson is not Sarah Lawrence or Kessiah Unknown. David Lawson was married at least twice and in addition to Kessiah and Sarah, the name Catherine has surfaced as a possible spouse. The only documented marriage is to Lovice "Lovey" Plumley in 1862. Several people are working very hard on this line and may make a break-through eventually, but I've researched David Lawson for twenty years and know almost as little about him now as I did when I began. I really hope you have more success than I have had.

    1. Check out Google Earth - Home
    2. Click here: Google Earth - Home I ran across this site in PC World's magazine today and checked it out. It's a free download and once you have it downloaded and installed, just type in an area and the image will zoom in on it. One of it's best features I think is it actually showed cemeteries and you can click on them and get directions. When you type in a location name just select all the boxes of things to look for in that area. In my first try I did Branchland, WV and was shown all the stores, churches, cemeteries, schools, etc., in the area. This is a great tool if your not sure where a church or cemetery is located. So far, all that I have seen were named. Lora

They were my G G Grandparents. James was likely born in Rockbridge county, VA, According to the 1860 US census for Boone Co., VA. He later appeared in the Lincoln Co. census up until 1880. According to family knowledge, James was married three times, don't know what his 1st 2 wives' names were for sure. Emily Albright's maiden name was, (according to family knowledge again) , Maddlin, or Medlin, or Maitland. Haven't been able to figure out which name it was. I think she might have been born in Bedford Co. Virginia. I think I found her in the 1860 census as a neighbor of James Albright in Boone Co, VA. One of their sons was my g grandfather His name was John B Albright. He married Idella Davis, (who I'm descended from) and then Leuna Mills. They and their descendents lived in Branchland, West Virginia.
