My mother's grandmother was Mary Ellen Sweeney Watts, married to Jackson Watts, both are buried in Watson Cemetery. I do know she had a sister named Jenny who married a brother of Jackson's..... Andrew Watts.

His father was Hursten, Sr. who died before Hursten was born in a mining accident. He is buried at the Watson Cemetery. I have been to his grave up on the hill. It is a very well kept grave yard. Do you have any information regarding this family and are you related?

It is fairly close to the Lincoln / Wayne County lines, near Nestlow. It is on a hill on your right as you go from Branchland towards Wayne County. 4 Mile is listed as being CR-11 on the West Virginia Atlas & Gazetteer that I have. (Published by DeLorme)I have relatives in this cemetery and have been there frequently.

I can break down this 15 year-old brick wall. Still searching for the parents of Eliza Jane Pauley, born 1859, married William Rilen (Riley) Scisson. In 1860, she was in the home of David and Mary (Polly) Pauley, but their ages and the ages of the other children make her look more like their grandchild than their child. By 1870, a Clarissa has joined the household. Clarissa would be the right age to be Eliza's mother, but her last name was Grant, and I have found a record of a Clarissa Grant claiming a Civil War widow's pension on a William H. Grant of West Virginia. I will wear a funny hat and blow a noisemaker in honor of anyone who can steer me in the right direction on this one. They lived in Lincoln Co., West Virginia. They were my grandparents. My great grandparents were Russell Albright and Mary Ellen Adkins. I am just starting to research my family tree, and what you have is apparently my grandmother's line. I can't find anything on the Albright line. Both Samuel and Henry Watson are shown as being one year old. In all probability, they are twins. I did not find them listed in the 1880 census.
